Originally from the Bay Area, I now live in New York City and work as the Photo Editor at Mashable. At night, I am finishing my MA degree in the magazine program at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University. This site is dedicated to sharing my recent photos, resume, writing and ramblings.
Previously, I’ve worked as an art intern for Salon, a travel writer for Travelocity, a correspondent for the San Mateo County Times and an investigative reporter covering housing and homelessness at the San Francisco Public Press. Before I took a bite out of the “big apple” I lived in the Bay Area where I received my BA at San Francisco State in journalism, and founded Trigger Mag, a quarterly print publication.
Last spring, I finished my second semester at NYU. My focus was on entrepreneurship and food, two things that get me out of bed in the morning. In one class I wrote about nothing but cheese. Mmm. Cheese. Surprisingly (or perhaps predictably), this didn’t even dent my addiction. It’s worse.
I’m also churning away on a new project, Fantom ‘fit, a website (and soon mobile app) that will help you identify street fashion and earn discounts at retailers. I developed the site and business model as part of an entrepreneurial journalism course this spring.
Pardon my dust. My life is under constant construction.
I appreciate any feedback. Promise I won’t bite.

Nina, are you in the bay area or have you moved to New York? I’m kinda confused on the detail…
I currently live in Brooklyn and work as the photo editor at Mashable in Manhattan. But the Bay Area will always be my home.
